Roller Derby Disco Party

My friends Giulia and Mark were in town on their way back to CA from an around the world trip. They were in town for only 2 nights, but one of the nights Giulia was able to find a roller derby disco party at the Hudson Hotel to go to. She is amazing! By the time we got there, the skates were all rented out, but we were able to convince people to let us borrow their skates for 15 minutes in exchange for a PBR, which they gladly accepted. So much fun! But kind of dangerous. Imagine 100 drunk people on skates in a really small space. At least we didn't fall :)

Giulia and Mark were gone for almost 4 months and travelled to Japan, Indonesia, Kenya, Italy, Istanbul and Ireland. They kept an awesome blog while they were on their trip. It's called "Where the Road Meets the Sun" and you can check it out HERE.

Georges Dambier at Bonni Benrubi Gallery

I went to the Bonni Benrubi Gallery to see the Georges Dambier exhibition: Who's That Girl? Dambier's photos are beautiful. They are mostly of girls all over France (Paris and southern France) and they all look like 50s Barbies. So glam!

When you first walk into the gallery, there is a flowerbed with little cameras in place of flowers. LOVE!

A couple of my favorite photos: Georges DambierMarie Helene et la Poisson Rouge, Paris (1957)
