My 1st NY Apt: VIDEO!!!
CLICK HERE to watch a video of my apartment. This was from last week, so now it is much cleaner than in the video, but you get the idea. It cuts out at the very end. Oops.

MMM...Shake Shack!
Had my first SF visitors last night!...and went to Shake Shack! Shake Shack is located in Madison Square Park and is known for it's amazing burgers, shakes, and unbelievably long lines. I'd actually been to Shake Shack before and had a Shack Burger and it was really good, but I wasn't overly impressed. I would have been equally as happy with an In-N-Out burger and fries (which I am already missing!). This time I ordered the Shack Stack, Cheesy Fries, and a Fair Shake. So much food and so bad for you - so it was a good thing I had a friend to share the food and guilt with. A Shack Stack consists of a burger with melty cheese, topped with a portobello mushroom stuffed with even MORE cheese, and special sauce. The cheesey fries were awesome too - crinkle cut fries with the same melty cheese as on the burger. Oh, and the shakes are so good! We got the Fair Shake with vanilla and coffee. Between the two of us, we couldn't finish the whole meal. I can't believe I am saying this, because I hate to wait in lines, but it was definitely worth the hour wait :)

A Night Out in Brooklyn
Last night was my first night out in Brooklyn and two new NY friends took me to a warehouse art party. Very interesting.
One view of the warehouse space
Interactive Art Exhibit: you could sit in a big kiddie pool full of rose petals and play with them. Sounds weird, but it was actually pretty cool. And it smelled really good too.
Some people came in costume. Not sure what this guy was supposed to be...He was dressed entirely in balloons.

Celebrity Siting #3: Matchmaking Cabbie
TRUE STORY!!! Last night two friends and I had the pleasure of riding in Matchmaking Cabbie’s taxi! Embarrassingly enough, we had never heard of him, so he introduced himself and told us a little about his matchmaking business. We were skeptical until he pulled out a photo album with pictures of himself on the Today Show, the David Letterman Show, and a few others. Turns out he had just returned from a wedding in Miami for a couple that he had set up a while back.
Matchmaking Cabbie asked if we wanted him to set us up. First, he asked how old we were. Apparently, he doesn’t work with 25 year-olds, but my friend made the cut. He asked her to text him with her contact information and he would respond via email with some questions to learn more about her. After the Q&A session, he will look through his database and match her with someone.
Details to follow…

Apartment Hunting: Getting Warmer...
Today was a much better day for open houses.
1. East Village Carriage House
PROS: GREAT LOCATION (quiet bc behind main building on street, across the street from the park, tons of restaurants, shops nearby), small building (4 units - 1 unit on each floor), clean, amazing details (decorative fireplace, moldings, little built in shelves), hardwood floors, building hallway has original wood plank flooring (beautiful), windows with great light in every room including bathroom, newer kitchen, decent bathroom, cozy, courtyard
CONS: no closets!!!, would need to take subway to/from work, can't fit all my furniture, bedroom can only fit a bed (literally), too small to have guests
